I’m Back!

My last post was about the Wolff family and that’s actually where I’ve picked things up again. And by “I”, I mean Michelle and I. Ha and mostly it’s all Michelle’s fault. I never meant to spend so much time away from genealogy, but life happens. And this summer Michelle decided to suck me right back into it all. So it’s all her fault, but in the best way.

Getting back into genealogy has reminded me of who I really am. If you know what I mean. You know something’s been missing in your life, but you just can’t figure out why you don’t feel like yourself. Genealogy isn’t everything (ha!), but the person I am when I’m doing genealogy feels 100% percent like ME.

So stay tuned for another post coming soon. Michelle and I just have to unravel some threads to decide which story to tell and where to start with it.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Bailey

  2. Bailey, glad to see you back. The book you speak of below in your posts (first time I found your blog), is it translated or in German?
I’m trying to get back past Paul Kauth, born in 1697, Clevraux, Luxembourg.
I’ve spent the last few years just filling out my extended family that I keep discovering. I’ve kept my Ancestry family tree private and have, as of today, 2,415 souls with some degree of relation. My GGrdFather Mathais Kout was a KAUTH when he entered Ellis Island, NY, and came out a KOUT. His wife, Margarethe was a KONZEN and daughter of Peter G. KONZEN and Theresia Wolff. I have a picture of Konzen Street (not very long but it is real) in Lawler, Iowa. You and I have corresponded a few years ago when, I believe, you were in Des Moines. Anyway, good to hear from you. Take care, Jim

    • Hi Jim! Good to hear from you again, it has been awhile. Is this the book “Familienbuch und Häuserchronik der Ortschaften Herborn, Mompach, Givenich und Pfaffenberg” you were talking about? It’s in German, I don’t think there’s anything on Clervaux directly in it, but if you needed something looked up in it for any of those areas in the book I’d be happy to do it for you! Just let me know 😀
